The Biocomplexity Project partnered with the Big Thompson Watershed Forum (BTWF) and U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) to create comparative watershed assessments for student use and study. Teachers in Colorado and Puerto Rico will be partnered to develop curriculum and facilitate cross-cultural teaching strategies for natural resource management and innovative uses of web-based technology. Projects will focus on issues related to development, water quality, population growth, resource management, recreation, policy, etc.
BTWF also partnered with the Thompson School District to include this project in the Thompson River Project (TRP) course curriculum for the duration of the partnership. Contacts with teachers and other individuals in Puerto Rico will be initiated to round out the partnership.
